FlareOut®

FlareOut® is a mechanical refrigeration liquids recovery and lean gas conditioning plant built in a standard ISO shipping container for easy transportation and installation on site. The portability of the FlareOut® allows quick installation on site, only requiring a concrete slab as a base, connections to power, feed gas line and product output connection to complete the set-up.

Raw gas enters the heat exchanger where it is pre-cooled by the flow of cold outlet gas, then it is compressed from near atmospheric pressure to 20 bar, further cooled, and passed through a three-phase separator to separate the liquids and vapor. The water from the bottom of the separator is sent to water treatment before disposal. The recovered natural gas liquids flow from the separator to a pressurized storage tank. The lean natural gas goes through further conditioning in specialized membrane filters before injection into fuel line for running gas engines.

FlareOut® units have basic and programable logic control that can interface with other site control systems and remote interphase to compressor and engine performance monitoring software. All units are rated for industrial and oil field use and meet European Union Equipment and Protective Systems intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres (EU ATEX) regulations. All pressure vessels meet the European Harmonized Standard for Unfired Pressure Vessels (EU ASME code).

FlareOut® systems are skid-mounted or housed in standard ISO containers, complete with all required operating equipment, including instrumentation, piping, and electrical components. The system will be completely factory assembled, charged with refrigerant, and test run prior to shipment. The refrigerant will be removed for shipping due to shipping regulations. Field installation will require connecting primary 3-phase power to the compressor unit and single-phase power to the control panel.

Standard Design Capacity

Three standard design models based on inlet gas capacity are available.

FlareOut® 1  has a design throughput of 1.0 MMscfd (1,200Nm3/h)

FlareOut® 3 has a design throughput of 3.0 MMscfd (3,600Nm3/h)

FlareOut® 5 has a design throughput of 5.0 MMscfd (6,000Nm3/h)

FlareOut® 1 has 50% turn-down capacity by operating one of two compressors. Custom sizes can also be made as required.

Accelerated Project Delivery

Because the detailed engineering and long lead materials have been secured, project durations can be reduced significantly. A unit can be up and running within 26 weeks from the contract agreement. We can also help secure credit for your project.

FlareOut® XL

FlareOut®-XL is an add-on modular gas fractionation unit based on Multi Loop Self Refrigeration (MLSR) technology developed in collaboration with Technical University Delft.

MLSR is also applicable for upgrading of biomethane where removal of water, CO2 and other associated impurities is accomplished by condensation and crystallisation before liquefaction of biomethane into bio-LNG.

MLSR works by cryogenic expansion for gas upgrading and do not use desiccants.  It requires less equipment and cost less to operate – both desired attributes for processing relatively small volumes of gas at remote locations.
